JEE Main 2018 Joint Entrance Examination for Engineering.

The CBSE has released the of JEE Main 2018 examination date for  Offline exam and application form. The exam will be conducted on 08th April 2018 and its application form is going to be accessible from 01st December 2017.

Candidates who qualify JEE Main 2018 Exam will be considered eligible to appear in JEE Advanced Exam. 

JEE Main 2018

The Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India has notified following two changes in the JEE Main 2018 pattern from 2017
The States of Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Uttrakhand, Nagaland, Odisha & some other institutions have joined JEE (Main) system, however, their admission criteria will be notified by the concerned authorities. Therefore, the candidates seeking admission to the institutions in these states, which were earlier admitting based on their State level examination, are also advised to fill in the JEE Main 2018 application form online

The Paper-1 (B. E./B. Tech.) of JEE (Main) will also be an eligibility test for the JEE (Advanced), which the candidate has to take if he/she is aspiring for admission to the undergraduate programs offered by the IITs.

Application Procedure for JEE Main 2018

In order to appear in JEE (Main) and JEE (Advanced) 2018, the candidates are required to apply only online as per procedure detailed below

Online Submission of Particulars, uploading of scanned photograph, signature and thumb impression may be made at JEE (Main) website


JEE Main 2018 Eligibility Criteria 

Date of Birth for JEE Main 2018

Only those candidates whose date of birth falls on or after October 01, 1993 are eligible. However, in the case of SC, ST and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) candidates, upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years, i.e. SC, ST and PwD candidates who are born on or after 01st October 1988 are eligible

Date of birth as recorded in the Secondary Education Board/University certificate will only be considered.

Year of Appearance in Qualifying Exam (QE):

Only those candidates who have passed their Class 12th Exam or any equivalent qualifying exam in 2016 or 2017; or those who are appearing in their Class 12th Exam or any equivalent qualifying exam in 2018 are eligible to appear in JEE (Main)-2018

Candidates who passed Class 12th/Qualifying Exam in 2015 or before as well as those who will appear in such exam in 2019 or later are not eligible to appear in JEE Main 2018.

Admit Card JEE Main  2018

The Admit Card can be downloaded from JEE (Main) website from 2nd week March 2018 onwards. Candidates are advised to download their admit cards from JEE (Main) website only.

Candidates are also advised to regularly see JEE Main 2018 website for updates. A call centre will also be functional on all working days from 09.00 AM to 05.30 PM for general facilitation. The phone numbers of the call centre are available on the website of JEE (Main).

JEE Main 2018 Counselling

The candidates will be selected for counselingon the basis of their ranks on merit list. The counseling will start from 01st week of July 2018. The authorities who will handle the counseling procedure are- CSAB and JoSAA

There will be 4 rounds in counseling procedure – 1st 3 rounds will be handled by JoSAA and the last & final round will be handled by CSAB. The entire counseling process will be completely online based.

The counseling of JEE Main 2018, will be conducted by JoSAA, along with that of JEE Advanced and will be held for admissions to IITs, NITs and other participating CFTIs.
Up to 92 institutes including 22 IITs, ISM, 31 NITs, 20 IIITs and 18 Other-Government Funded Technical Institutes (Other-GFTIs) will participate under JoSAA 2018.

  1. Release of CBSE JEE (MAIN) 2018 Notification: 20th November 2017
  2. The Information Brochure for JEE Main released on 22nd November 2017
  3. Commencement of Registration/Application Form Submission: 01st December 2017
  4. Practise Mock Test will be Available Form December 2017
  5. Date of Online Submission of Application Form of JEE (Main): 01st January 2018
  6. Last Date to Pay Application Fee: 02nd January 2018
  7. Offline Pen and Paper Based JEE Main 2018 Exam Date: 08th April 2018
  8. Online Computer Based JEE Main 2018 Exam Date: 15th & 16th April 2018 (expected)
  9. Answer Key and Scanned OMR will be displayed from 24th to 27th April 2018
  10. Objections against Answer Key will be accepted from 24th to 27th April 2018
    JEE Main Paper-I Result will be announced on 30th April 2018
  11. Declaration of Result of JEE Main Paper-II: 31st May 2018.
